When we become your lawyers

Reading this site, calling us, or sending a message or form does not make us your lawyers. We represent you only after we both sign a written agreement. Until then, please don't send anything you want kept confidential through the form or by email. When we talk, we'll ask for what we need.

Our intake team

Our intake team answers calls, texts and website messages for the firm and works under Sean Hall's supervision. They gather the basics so Sean Hall can decide whether the firm can help. Talking with them doesn't make us your lawyers, and only Sean Hall decides which cases the firm takes. How we handle what you send us is explained on our Privacy page.

Fees and case expenses

In injury cases, it's free to talk. If you hire us, the firm advances the case expenses. You pay no attorney fees or case expenses unless we recover money for you. If we recover money, case expenses are reimbursed from the recovery, and our attorney fee is a percentage of the recovery after case expenses are deducted. The exact terms, including the percentages, are in the written agreement you sign before we take your case.

Contingent fees are not allowed in every kind of case. Criminal defense cases are not handled on a contingent fee, and their fee terms are set in a written agreement.

Where we practice

Sean Hall is licensed to practice law in South Carolina. Our only office is in Charleston. We take cases across South Carolina, and pages about other cities describe the areas we serve, not other offices.

Listing a type of case on this site means we handle those cases. It does not mean any lawyer at the firm holds a special certification in that area of law.

Examples and stories on this site are illustrations. They are not real cases or results our firm obtained, and no outcome is promised or implied. Every case is different.
